Jubeir also thanked the OIC foreign ministers on their response to hold an extraordinary meeting to discuss the brutal attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad. "These attacks are clear and blatant violations to their sanctity and all international conventions, treaties and laws," Al-Jubeir added, stressing that the Iranian government assumes full responsibility of protection of the diplomatic missions. Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir confirmed that the attacks on the Kingdom's mission in Iran were widely condemned by the countries of the world as well as regional and international organizations, including the UN Security Council, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Arab League, stressing that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should issue today a strict stance emanating from the principles of its Charter and principles of international conventions and laws. He concluded that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always called for building better relations with Iran based on the principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect and non-interference in the countries' affairs, but Iran responds with statements which ran contrary to its real actions on the ground.
