Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir confirmed that since the beginning of last year when the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ascended the throne, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has followed a road characterized by strict and firm foreign policy pillars. In a statement to mark the first anniversary of King Salman's ascending the throne, Al-Jubeir said this policy was based on the good neighborhood principle, non-interference in the domestic affairs of other countries, serving the Islamic and Arab issues, and playing an effective role within the regional and international organizations to enhance bilateral relations to best serve the joint interests and the international security and peace. Al-Jubeir quoted the monarch as saying when he first addressed the nation that his government is going to do whatever possible to unite ranks and defend the nation's causes as per instructions of our religion which is characterized by moderation and tolerance. As for Saudi diplomacy road map, it started with state visits by the King to a number of major capitals of the world as well as summit meetings hosted by the Kingdom, and visits made by a number of world leaders to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Al-Jubeir said. He recalled that last year witnessed a number of serious challenges faced by the Kingdom with the utmost needed decisiveness, otherwise the region would have fallen into chaos, strife and sedition.
