The Yemeni Foreign Ministry denied targeting or shelling the Iranian embassy building in Sana'a. An official source at the Yemeni Foreign Ministry explained that the Republic of Yemen had taken on October 2, a decision to break off diplomatic relations with Iran. In a statement to Yemeni news agency "Saba", the source held the Houthi and Saleh militias responsible for protecting all buildings of the diplomatic missions and international organizations, as these militias are occupying the Yemeni capital Sana'a by force. The source warned the coup militias against using the working or evacuated diplomatic missions in any military action because this would be a violation of international norms and conventions and would subject citizens and their properties to danger.
