King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals signed an agreement on Sunday to establish National Academy of Energy with six national and international agencies including Saudi Aramco, Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Saline Water Conversion Corporation, Saudi Electricity Company, General Electric Company and Siemens Company. The aim of this ambitious initiative is to keep up with world-class levels of training and service of the public and private sectors to graduate specialized and qualified young students who are capable of working efficiently and effectively in the energy sector which is witnessing rapid and steady growth. The Vice President for Studies and Applied Research Dr. Sahl Abdul-Jawad said that the university will work with partners and founders to provide technical support to the National Academy of electric power for the establishment of the necessary infrastructure such as laboratories and workshops, as well as providing technical support for the development of training programs and necessary educational materials, where the university will be the responsible for international certificates of training programs and their verifications .
