The United States and its coalition partners conducted 15 airstrikes against Daesh targets in Iraq and Syria on Sunday, the Combined Joint Task Force said. In Iraq, 12 airstrikes near four cities hit several Daesh tactical units, vehicles, weapons caches, fighting positions, and other targets, the taskforce said in a statement Monday. Six strikes hit near Mosul, in northern Iraq, and four hit near Ramadi, where the Iraqi military on Sunday asked civilians to leave the city before a planned offensive. The other two strikes in Iraq were near Bayji, the statement said. In Syria, three airstrikes near Mar'a and Ayn Isa hit one Daesh tactical unit and other targets, the taskforce said. The U.S.-led coalition also reported an airstrike near the Daesh stronghold of Raqqa on Saturday that hit five natural-gas and oil separation points and two crude-oil collection points.
