Dozens of people were injured when an anti-government protest in the Montenegrin capital Podgorica turned violent, police said early Sunday. According to dpa, thousands of people took part in the protest against Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic's government Saturday night. The opposition is demanding Djukanovic's resignation and early elections. Violence erupted shortly before midnight when police blocking the crowd from approaching the parliament building were pelted with rocks and Molotov cocktails. Police then also responded with violence, firing tear gas and stun grenades while then taking control over the central square in Podgorica.
