Hurricane Patricia continues to lose strength as it crosses over Mexico, with local weather services downgrading it to a Category 1 storm, albeit one still packing winds of 120 kilometres per hour, dpa reported. Heavy rainfalls and gusts are expected, as well as large waves along the country's Pacific coast. Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said in a late-night video message that the storm has only resulted in minimal damage so far. But residents have to remain vigilant and follow instructions from authorities, he said.
