AlQa'dah 13, 1434, September 19, 2013, SPA -- Hurricane Manuel was "meandering near the coast" of north-western Mexico Thursday, as the country mourned 80 dead and searched for the 58 people who went missing in flooding, dpa reported. Several homes in the mountain village of La Pintada, in the southern state of Guerrero were buried in a mudslide, President Enrique Pena Nieto said late Wednesday. It remained to be seen whether the 58 mission people were "unfortunately under the mud," he said. Manuel was located over the Gulf of California, 145 kilometres south-east of the town of Los Mochis, in the state of Sinaloa. The Miami-based US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said it featured sustained winds of up to 120 kilometres per hour with higher gusts and was stationary. Manuel hit the southern Pacific coast Sunday as a tropical storm. The high humidity it caused proved lethal in combination with Hurricane Ingrid, the second hurricane of the Atlantic season. Manuel was expected to weaken Thursday and Friday, the NHC said. -- SPA 21:38 LOCAL TIME 18:38 GMT تغريد
