Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Sharq, Al-Watan, and Okaz newspapers commented on the reform of the UN Security Council, saying that the working procedures in the Council need real and fundamental reforms in the use of the veto and a collective pledge not to block the accountability for war crimes and acts of genocide. The papers pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has called many times for the reform of the Security Council and the development of its working methods as we live in a world torn by a war machine and escalating violence; and we desperately need that the Security Council be able to carry out its basic tasks in maintaining international peace and security. --More 10:54 LOCAL TIME 07:54 GMT تغريد
