Saudi newspapers' editorials for today highlighted a number of current issues. Al-Watan newspaper highlighted the Cabinet's mention of the Third Ministerial Meeting on Security Council Reform, which was held in Italy under the title: "New Approaches to Reforming the Security Council," stressing the importance of the road map for reforms of the Security Council presented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the conference. The newspaper said that the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and head of the Saudi delegation to the conference, Dr. Nizar Madani, stressed "that the reform process must take into account the interdependence of the five key issues, namely: categories of membership, the veto, regional representation, the size of an enlarged Council, working methods of the Council and finally the relationship between the Security Council and the General Assembly." Okaz newspaper hailed the extension of the scholarship program for a third term of five years to the year 1441 H. It said the extension is an additional step in the process of enhancing cognitive, cultural and educational awareness which was launched nine years ago. --More
