Ethiopia's Prime Minister Haile Mariam Desalegn arrived in Riyadh this evening on an official visit to the Kingdom. At King Salman airbase, he was received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; Dr. Isam bin Saad bin Saeed, the Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet, who is the official guide of the visiting delegation; Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Sultan, Mayor of Riyadh Region; Husham bin Hasan Al Al-Sheikh, Undersecretary of the Chief Royal Protocol; Khalid bin Mabrook Al-Khalid, Acting Charge d'Affaires at the Saudi embassy in Addis Ababa; and Temesgen Omar, Charge d'Affaires at the Ethiopian embassy in Riyadh. Official welcome ceremony was held for the Ethiopian senior guest, including the playing of the two countries' national anthems and inspection of the guard of honor. Following that, the Ethiopian prime minister shook hands with senior welcomers including Prince Dr. Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Minister of State and member of the Cabinet; Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard; Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Sattam bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Mansour bin Miqren bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Speaker of the Shoura Council; ministers, senior civil and military officials and members of the embassy of Ethiopia in Riyadh. For his part, the Crown Prince shook hands with members of the Ethiopian delegation accompanying the Prime Minister. Following a brief stop at the VIP lounge, the Crown Prince accompanied the Ethiopian Prime Minister in an official motorcade to King Saud palace for Hospitality.
