Barcelona keep pace with Real Madrid atop the Spanish Liga with a 5-2 home thrashing of Rayo Vallecano, with Neymar banging in four goals to go top of the Liga scoring chart. Javi Guerra gave Rayo a shock early lead but Neymar quickly put Barca ahead by earning two clear penalties with clever footwork out on the left - and by calmly converting both of them. Neymar scored twice more in the second half then set up Luis Suarez to complete the routwith a fifth goal. The win left Barca level at the top on 18 points with Real Madrid, who earlier Saturday caned lowly Levante 3-0 with Cristiano Ronaldoestablishing a new club scoring record. Real and Barca are two points above Villarreal, who will regain topspot if they manage to beat fourth-placed Celta Vigo Sunday.
