Rampant Barcelona kept within one point of Spanish leaders Real Madrid with a 5-0 home destruction of lowly Levante on Sunday. Lionel Messi led the rout with a handsome hat-trick while Neymar and Luis Suarez scored Barca's other goals. Messi is now just two goals behind Real's Cristiano Ronaldo in the scorers' chart. It was Barca's 11th straight win in all competitions and left them with 56 points from 23 games, one less than Real, who beat Deportivo La Coruna 2-0 Saturday. Neymar opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a somewhat fortunate lob after a perfect centre from Messi. The little Argentine made it 2-0 with a right-foot drive after being released by defender Marc Bartra. Pedro set up Messi to make it 3-0 then the Argentina captain completed his hat-trick from a penalty after Levante's Ivan Ramis had pulled down Neymar. Suarez came off the subs' bench and completed the rout with his best goal so far for Barca, a spectacular scissors kick on a centre from Adriano. Earlier Sunday, Valencia regained fourth place with a late 1-0 home defeat of struggling Getafe.
