A security spokesman of the Interior Ministry said that "at about 07:00 p.m. this evening of Friday, October 16, 2015, a person was seen carrying a machine gun near Al-Haydariya mosque in the Saudi city of Saihat, Al-Qatif province, Eastern Region, and randomly firing at passersby in the surroundings of the mosque. Accordingly and immediately, a security patrol at the site managed to deal with him. The fire exchange between the assailant and the patrol left him dead". The spokesman said the shooter killed five passersby citizens, including a woman, and injured nine others. Security authorities are still following up the matter, he concluded.
