AlHijjah 24, 1436, October 08, 2015, SPA -- Liverpool named Juergen Klopp as their new manager on Thursday, replacing Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked on Sunday after just over three years in charge, according to dpa. The 48-year-old German will be officially unveiled at a press conference on Friday and will take charge for the first time away to Tottenham in the Premier League a week on Sunday. Liverpool did not release details of the contract but media reports said the former Borussia Dortmund manager signed a three-year deal. Klopp led Dortmund to the Bundesliga title twice and helped them reach the final of the Champions League in 2013 before stepping down at the end of last season. Rodgers was sacked by Liverpool on Sunday after just over three years in charge. Liverpool are 10th in the Premier League but only six points off top spot, held by Manchester City. The club also confirmed that Sean O'Driscoll, Gary McAllister, Glen Driscoll and Chris Davies have all left their respective first-team roles at the club, though McAllister will assume an ambassadorial position. Klopp is expected to bring his two trusted assistants, Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz to accompany him in his new role.
