AlHijjah 13, 1436, Sep 27, 2015, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation among the South-South countries to build peaceful and balanced relations. The came in a speech delivered by Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, at a round table High Level Meeting for Cooperation Among the Countries of the South which was held at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York yesterday under the chairmanship of the President of China and in the presence of a number of leaders of the world. During his speech, Al-Jubeir conveyed to the leaders of the world the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his sincere wishes of a successful meeting. Al-Jubeir thanked the President of Xi Jin Ping and his friendly government for the kindl invitation he extended to Saudi Arabia to attend this important international gathering. He said "the political, economic and social changes require from all of us to show serious cooperation to create appropriate climates to build peaceful and balanced relations among countries, based on respect of international legitimacy in a way that guarantees justice and consolidates mutual confidence". He added that "this meeting includes countries rich of their racial and cultural diversification and who possess huge natural and human resources in addition to a number of rich civilizational treasures which have contributed to the formation of the world civilizational legacy over thousands of years". He explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered among the world's biggest ten donors of developmental assistance, citing that it has last year ranked sixth according to a UN statistical report, noting that the total amount donated by the Kingdom over the last four decades surpassed $115 billion, benefiting more than 90 countries all over the world, a clear interest of the Kingdom in supporting development in the world. He expressed great hope that this meeting would yield the projected goals. Leaders of China, Egypt and Bangladesh, the prime ministers of a number of countries as well as senior representatives of international and human organizations and commissions took part in the event.
