AlHijjah 09, 1436, September 23, 2015, SPA -- A new cabinet filled with familiar faces was sworn into office Wednesday in Greece, three days after the ruling leftist SYRIZA party scored a decisive victory at the polls, dpa reported. Euclid Tsakalotos, a close ally of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, remains finance minister after being at the centre of Greece's tense bailout negotiations this summer. Nikos Kotzias once again takes up the post of foreign minister, an influential position as Greece struggles to handle the large number of refugees who arrive on the country's shores every day. Also among those taking office were Panos Kammenos, leader of SYRIZA's junior coalition partner, the Independent Greeks, who will stay on as defence minister. The Independent Greeks will also be in the leadership at the Finance Ministry with party member Giorgos Houliarakis taking the role of Tsakalotos' deputy. Houliarakis had earlier served as caretaker fianance minister.
