AlQa'dah 12, 1436 H, August 27, 2015, SPA -- Dr. Riyadh Yassin, Yemen's foreign minister, announced here today that Arab defense and foreign ministers are scheduled to hold a joint meeting in Cairo within the coming four weeks to approve the draft protocol of the Arab joint force, previously endorsed by the Arab summit recently held in Sharm Al-Sheikh, Egypt. In remarks following a meeting with the Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al-Araby, Yassin said that today's meeting was postponed for more study of the protocol. On the other hand, Yassin disclosed that there are positive signs on the imminence of liberating Sanaa from the hands of the rebels, noting that numerous elements of the Yemeni popular resistance are working inside Sanaa. He drew the attention to the serious results and human sufferings that are coming out of the brutal attack staged by the Houthi militia and followers of Saleh in Taiz, noting that they are doing so to prevent the fall of Sanaa which is expected to come soon after the fall of Taiz. He described the current talks between the UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Wild Al-Sheikh Ahmed and the Houthi group and Saleh as consultations rather than negotiations aiming to convince them to implement the UN resolution No. 2216, adding that the Yemeni government is not participating in such consultations. He concluded that the political solution in Yemen comes after restoring the legitimacy in the country, noting that all Yemeni parties could, then, participate in the political solution each according to its size in the Yemeni field.
