AlQa'dah 12, 1436, August 27, 2015, SPA -- The bodies of seven inmates were found Wednesday in the large trash cans outside a Guatemalan high-security prison, the authorities said, according to dpa. The Penitentiary System, in charge of the Central American country's prisons, said the deaths were found at El Boqueron jail in the town of Cuilapa in Santa Rosa province about 90 kilometres south-east of Guatemala City. The authorities believe that the dead belonged to the gang known as Mara Salvatrucha. Preliminary investigations show that they were beaten and suffocated to death. Earlier this month three inmates were found dead in one of the toilets of the same prison. The authorities said at the time that they belonged to the Los Paisas gang. The Penitentiary System said that of 521 inmates in El Boqueron, 286 are believed to belong to Mara Salvatrucha.
