Troops were deployed to prisons in Honduras Saturday, after three inmates were killed and 15 wounded in a clash between rival prison gangs, dpa quoted officials as saying. Prisons chief Simeon Flores said members of the street gang Mara 18 clashed with inmates from the section holding common criminals, and weapons including firearms were used. He said a police bomb squad had removed fragmentation grenades found in the National Penitentiary in Tamara, about 30 kilometres north of the capital Tegucigalpa.
