AlQa'dah 10, 1436, August 25, 2015, SPA -- Chancellor Angela Merkel is to visit on Wednesday an asylum centre in a small eastern German town, which was the target of weekend attacks by right-wing anti-refugee protestors, dpa reported. Merkel is to travel to Heidenau, near Dresden, where she is to meet with refugees in the newly opened shelter as well as hold talks with volunteers and security forces, her office said on Tuesday. Heidenau's mayor, Juergen Opitz, had called on Merkel on Monday to visit the scene of the weekend riots, which left more than 30 police officers injured and were strongly condemned by the chancellor. Merkel, who faced criticism for not condemning the attacks more quickly, is be accompanied by Stanislaw Tillich, the premier of the state of Saxony, where Heidenau is located.
