Borussia Dortmund and Schalke handed their new coaches marvellous opening day wins in the Bundesliga on Saturday as they crushed Borussia Moenchengladbach and Werder Bremen respectively, dpa reported. Dortmund, led by Thomas Tuchel, needed only 33 minutes to race into a 3-0 lead over Gladbach in the late game with goals from Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Another from Mkhitaryan shortly after the break concluded the 4-0 victory. Schalke began under Andre Breitenreiter with an impressive 3-0 win away to Werder Bremen. Theodor Gebre Selassie's 34th minute own goal put Schalke in front before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar added to the score. Bayer Leverkusen defeated Hoffenheim 2-1 having trailed early while Hertha Berlin won 1-0 at Augsburg in a match which finished 10 against 10. Newly promoted Ingolstadt won 1-0 at Mainz while fellow newcomers Darmstadt drew 2-2 at home to Hanover. Defending champions Bayern Munich started the search for an unprecedented fourth consecutive title with a 5-0 win over SV Hamburg on Friday. On Sunday Wolfsburg host Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart welcome Cologne. Dortmund were immediately on top and tore apart the youthful central defence fielded by the visitors. Gladbach had a let-off as a marginal offside decision ruled out Mkhitaryan's goal but it only delayed the inevitable. -- SPA 02:29 LOCAL TIME 23:29 GMT تغريد
