Borussia Dortmund opened up the Bundesliga title race Saturday by snatching a 1-0 victory at leader Bayern Munich with a goal from 19-year-old Mario Goetze. Goetze scored midway through the second half after confusion in the home defense to earn the champion its sixth win in seven league games and lift it to second place on 26 points, two behind Bayern. Saturday's program was overshadowed though by the suicide attempt from referee Babak Rafati that forced the postponement of the Cologne vs. Mainz match. Borussia Moenchengladbach is third, also on 26 points, after crushing Werder Bremen 5-0 with a Marco Reus hat trick. Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar netted twice and Raul and Lewis Holtby was also on target to give Schalke 04 a 4-0 win over struggling Nuremberg. Schalke's third victory in four games put it fourth on 25 points. VfL Wolfsburg won 4-1 against Hanover 96 to offer coach Felix Magath, which has suspended three of his players for a lack of commitment, something to smile about. Freiburg battled back from two goals down to snatch a last-gasp 2-2 draw against Hertha Berlin, Stefan Reisinger netting his second of the game deep into stoppage time. Michael Ballack scored against his former club in a 2-0 Bundesliga win for Bayer Leverkusen at Kaiserslautern Friday.
