A Colombian judge on Wednesday ordered the arrests of 16 alleged paramilitary members for their suspected involvement in the killing of a journalist last year, according to dpa. According to Colombian media reports, TV journalist Luis Carlos Cervantes was killed after he researched ties between officials in the municipalities of Taraza and Caucasia, in the province of Antioquia, and the powerful paramilitary drug gang Clan Usuga. Cervantes was shot dead on August 12, 2014, in Taraza. The organization Reporters Without Borders ranks Colombia 128th out of 180 countries based on its record for press freedom and violence against journalists, including killings.
