U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden spoke Tuesday with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi to offer condolences for the July 17th attack by ISIS against Iraqis in Diyala and to reaffirm U.S. support in the battle against the extremist group, the White House said. "The vice president thanked Prime Minister Al-Abadi for his leadership and efforts to promote national unity in Iraq, and he underscored the importance of all Iraqis working together to fight ISIS," the White House said in a statement late Tuesday. Both leaders "discussed the ongoing military campaign against ISIS in Anbar province and the importance of sustaining pressure to degrade and defeat ISIS in Iraq," the statement said.
