US Vice President Joseph Biden met with Prime Minister Stephen Harper for talks on mutual interests and congratulated the Canadian leader for hosting a successful Women's World Cup tournament, the White House said. At their meeting Saturday ahead of the World Cup final in Vancouver, Biden and Harper discussed "the threat posed by ISIS and the ongoing situation in eastern Ukraine," the White House said in a statement. "Both leaders reaffirmed the shared commitment to deepening robust trade relations and the early conclusion of negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership," the statement said, referring to a Pacific Rim free-trade agreement.
