Secretary General of the Riyadh-based Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, said today that the GCC foreign ministers have each received a telephone call from the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, where he briefed them on the details of the agreement reached on Tuesday July 14, 2015 between the countries of Group 5 +1 and Iran over Iran's nuclear program. Al-Zayani said that the GCC foreign ministers expressed their appreciation of the contact of John Kerry and expressed their hope that the agreement leads to remove concerns over Iran's nuclear program in order to preserve security and stability in the region, and avert a nuclear arms race. He added that Kerry stressed the U.S. commitment to the results of the U.S.-GCC summit in Camp David recently, and continue coordination and consultation and intensify efforts with the GCC countries so as to contribute to the development of common interests and promote security and stability in the region, pointing out that the two sides had agreed to hold a meeting in the region soon. -- SPA 14:11 LOCAL TIME 11:11 GMT تغريد
