Faisal was named as the Minister of Foreign Affairs based on royal order no. A/236 dated on 8/10/1395 corresponding to 13/10/1975. On 10/7/1436H, Prince Saud Al-Faisal was appointed as minister of state, member of the cabinet, advisor to and envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and supervisor of the foreign affairs until his death on 22/9/1436H corresponding to 9/7/2015. Prince Saud was authorized to carry out many tasks, including Vice President of Higher Media Council, member of the Supreme Petroleum Council and member of the Managing Directors of the National Commission for Wildlife Council. Besides his work as the Foreign Minister, Prince Saud was a member of many Arab committees. Prince Saud Al-Faisal also led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation at many meetings, events and summits at Arab, Islamic and international arenas on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
