The parties of Yemeni conflict confirmed on Thursday their commitment to implement a humanitarian pause starting Friday, 10 July at 23:59 (2059 GMT) until the end of Muslim's holy fasting month of Ramadan. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon expressed thanks to the Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and paid tribute to his continuing support for a humanitarian truce, pointing out that President Hadi has notified the coalition about his consent to hold a truce in order to ensure the support and cooperation of coalition members. Dujarric told reporters that UN Secretary-General has received assurances through his Special Envoy from the Houthi militias, the General People's Congress party and other parties of their support for a halt to fighting through July 17 (end of Ramadan), pointing out that this unconditional humanitarian pause is urgently needed to help everybody in Yemen.
