President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi of the Republic of Yemen, sent a message to the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, in which he stressed the keenness of the Yemeni government to reach an agreement on a humanitarian truce in accordance with Security Council resolution 2216, expressing, at the same time, his hope that Houthi rebel militias would commit to any truce. During a meeting last night in New York City with Undersecretary of the UN Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Stephen O'Brien, the Yemeni Government's Minister, Abdullah Al-Sayadi said that President Hadi stressed in his message that his government is keen to deliver humanitarian aid, lifting the siege on cities and stopping killings and violence being carried out by Houthis as well as achieving security and stability for Yemeni people in all parts of the country.
