A military jet and a small plane collided in the US state of South Carolina on Tuesday, authorities said, according to dpa. The midair collision between a small Cessna C 150 aircraft and an F-16 fighter jet occurred about 18 kilometres north of Charleston, South Carolina, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The F-16 pilot safely ejected from the plane and was being medically examined, the Air Force said. The pilot and a passenger aboard the Cessna were killed, The Post and Courier newspaper reported.
