Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud addressed the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Muslims everywhere on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. The following is a translation of the text of the speech, which was read in Arabic by Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi: "In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Gracious. Praise be to Allah who said in the Holy Quran 'Ramadan is the month in which was sent down the Quran, as a guide to mankind, also clear signs for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present at his home during that month should spent it in fasting.' Prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and be upon his family and companions. He had said 'Whoever fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and in hope to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.' Dear brothers and sisters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dear Muslims everywhere, May Allah's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you. The Holy Month of Ramadan, which is a month of goodness and blessing as assigned by Allah Almighty, has come to overwhelm us with mercy, forgiveness and emancipation from hell, and to give us the meanings of empathy and compassion. We receive this holy month with pleasure, following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who used to congratulate his companions on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan. This holy month teaches us great lessons which we see with our own sights and insight. Dear brother Muslims, The month of Ramadan is not a month of rest and relaxation. There are many virtues in the Holy Month of Ramadan that motivate us to carry out good deeds such as fasting, praying and doing charity work. For Muslims, these include perfecting one's work and dealing with others decently and benevolently. --More 19:50 LOCAL TIME 16:50 GMT تغريد
