A Malaysia Airlines plane carrying 300 passengers was forced to make an emergency landing Friday after systems indicated a possible fire, UPI reported. Reports say Flight MH148 had just left the Melbourne airport for Malaysia when the plane alerted pilots to an engine fire. The pilots then circled the airport for 45 minutes before returning safely to the ground at around 3:00 p.m. local time. Fire trucks waited on the runway for the plane, but ultimately were not needed. No injuries were sustained.
