Under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamad bin Thamir Al Thani, the Head of Qatari Corporation for Information, the 23rd session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states ministers of information concluded here today. The Saudi delegation to the meetings was led by the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi. Concluding the meetings, the ministers issued a number of decisions and recommendations related to GCC information strategy to defend member states' interests and combat terrorism in addition to other issues pertaining to the field of media. The ministers were also briefed on the report of the Director General of Gulf Radio and TV Organization and praised what has been accomplished and the care enjoyed by it from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the guidance of the Minister of Culture and Information in the Kingdom (the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the organization.) On the next meeting of the Ministers of Information, the information ministers welcomed the invitation by Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi to hold their twenty fourth meeting in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the state of the next presidency, and mandated the general secretariat for coordination to determine the appropriate date for the meeting in the first half of 2016.
