Presided over by its Deputy Speaker Dr. Mohammed bin Amin Al-Jafri, Majlis Al-Shura held its 44th ordinary session here today. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Assistant Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura Dr. Yehya bin Abdullah Al-Samaan said that Majlis Al-Shura approved a draft agreement on providing assistance to develop and train Saudi border guards between the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Interior of the Federal Republic of Germany. Dr. Al-Samaan also said that Majlis Al-Shura approved amendments to Annex VI of the International Convention for the Prevention of Marine Pollution from Ships (MARPOL), which were adopted by the General Assembly of the International Maritime Organization. Majlis Al-Shura also recommended raising the level of representation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the International Maritime Organization to become permanent representation.
