The Palestine football federation drops a motion to suspend Israel at the FIFA congress, its president Jibril Rajoub tells the delegates of the ruling body, dpa reported. Rajoub rather asked the 209 FIFA members to vote in favour of a mechanism of monitoring to ensure his federation's rights in the future in a dispute. Rajoub said that many members from the football community urged him to drop the motion because "we don't want to have a precedent to suspend an association. I understood the dimension ... I decided to drop the suspension but I won't give up my resistance ... I am here to play football not politics," Rajoub said.
