Border patrols in the Eastern Region have captured an infiltrator on his way to cross the border on foot heading for Kuwait and apprehended boats practicing fishing in a prohibited area. Captain Omar bin Mohammed Al-Aklabi, Spokesman of the Border Guard Command in the Eastern Region, said the patrols at Al-Khafji sector have, the day before yesterday, captured an Asian who tried to cross the border on foot on his way to Kuwait. No prohibited or embargoed items were found in his possession, he said, adding that he would be interrogated further and remains subject to the border security system. On the other hand, the naval patrol in Al-Jubail and Rass Tannourah sectors apprehended boats practicing illegal fishing in a prohibited area, he said, adding that investigation into the incident was launched before sending the fishermen to justice.
