The Republic of Yemen has enjoyed, since its accession to the Council of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States and its Executive Office in 2003, technical and financial support by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to improve the quality of health services in Yemen, and help in funding infrastructure of this sector through the construction of modern medical facilities that meet the needs of all the Yemeni people, as King Abdullah Medical City that was established by the Saudi Government in Sana'a at a cost of SR 230 million. Moreover, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also funded several health projects in Yemen included the establishment of King Abdullah Medical City and Aden General Hospital. It also funded the anti-malaria program and the establishment of the Medical City in Al-Hodeidah city at a cost of $ 50 million by the Saudi Fund for Development and allowed Yemeni patients to be treated in specialized hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in addition to the qualification and training of the Yemeni medical cadres.
