Rabiah welcomed South African side, stressing the depth of the friendly ties between the two countries in various fields. In turn, his South African counterpart expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the warm reception and hospitality. The two sides agreed on the importance of the Joint Economic Committee in promoting bilateral relations in the economic, political and cultural fields. They also agreed on a number of recommendations, in light of the discussions that took place during the preparatory meetings of the concerned committees. The press release issued after the conclusion of the Joint Committee revealed that the two sides agreed to promote trade and investment through the exchange of high-level commercial delegations and participation in exhibitions to be held in both countries. They also agreed that the South African side would encourage Saudi companies to attend specialized exhibitions to be held in the Republic of South Africa while the Saudi side called on South Africa to take part in specialized exhibitions to be organized by the Kingdom.
