Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam commended the generous support provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to Lebanon to help it meet the challenges in the political and economic spheres. In a speech during the opening session of the 23rd Arab Economic Forum held today in Beirut in the presence of ministers and governors of central banks and heads and representatives of financial institutions and institutions of joint Arab action, Salam said, "the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has stood by our side and is still hosting our citizens and still supporting our stability and institutions." He added: "Yes, on behalf of our people, hundreds of thousands of Lebanese residents in the Arab Gulf states, all our armed forces, which began receiving new weapons and equipment, I thank the Saudi gift." He added: "We say thank you to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and other leaders of the GCC countries for all what they have provided to us over the years.
