The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued today the following royal orders: After reviewing the letter of Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud dated on 10/07/1436 AH, containing his desire to be relieved of the post of the Crown Prince, and as we express to him that he enjoys a high status to us and it will remain as long as we live, as grown up by all the sons of the founder late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman, and in recognition of his desire, we have decided to respond to his desire by relieving of him of the post of the Crown Prince. In accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia as required to adhere to it, and the keenness on cooperation and taking with Sharia and regular reasons to achieve national unity, cohesion and solidarity for the goodness, and emanating from the basis of Sharia principles on which the system of governance is based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and taking care for the entity of the state and its future, and ensuring its continuation on the bases on which it was founded in the service of the religion, the country and the people, and for the goodness of its faithful people, And after reviewing the basic statute of Governance issued by the Royal Order No. (A / 90) dated 27/08/1412 AH. And after reviewing the system of Allegiance Pledge Commission issued by Royal Order No. A / 135 dated on 26/09/1427 AH. And after reviewing the Royal Order No. A / 52 dated on 03/04/1436 AH. And upon what is necessitated by the public interest, We ordered the following: First: Relieving Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the posts of the Crown Prince and Deputy Premier upon his request. Second: Selecting Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Crown Prince, and appointing him as Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior and President of the Council of Political and Security Affairs.
