Thai customs bureau confiscated 29.5 kilograms of elephant ivory at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport, reports said Saturday. The smuggled ivory was found in a suitcase of a Vietnamese national in transit at the airport between flights from Angola to Cambodia. A total of 20 items were seized, including 15 ivory tusks and five processed ivory products, dpa quoted Tada Chumchaiyo of the Customs Investigation and Suppression Bureau as saying. Approximately 3,000 kilograms of various animal parts are seized from wildlife traffickers in Thailand each year, the wildlife conservation office said.
