Saudi Ambassador to the United States of America Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir said that the Determination Storm Campaign is for the protection of the Yemeni people and the defense of their legitimate government. He said in a meeting yesterday with the program "Meet the Press" on channel "NBC" News of America, "This campaign aims to protect the Yemeni people and defend their legitimate government from a group supported by Iran and Hezbollah", refusing at the same time to call the "Determination Storm'' as a proxy war between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran, pointing out that the Kingdom is carrying out this campaign for the protection of Yemen. Asked about the possibility that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran coexist in the Middle East, Ambassador Al-Jubeir said, "The Kingdom has faced many aggressions from the Iranian side, while there has been no aggression from the Kingdom against Iran." He added, "We have extended the hand of friendship to Iranians, but they have rejected it for the past 35 years; and we want the existence of friendly relations with them, because this matter will be good for the region; but what is happening is the result of Iranian actions, and not as a result of the Kingdom's actions." In response to a question on the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, the Saudi Ambassador said, "We are waiting to see the outcome of the negotiations before we assess the deal." --More 13:12 LOCAL TIME 10:12 GMT تغريد
