Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov began a tour of Latin America with a visit to Cuba, where he called Tuesday for an end to the U.S. trade embargo against the Caribbean island country. A Cuban government website said Lavrov discussed bilateral cooperation with Ricardo Cabrisas, the vice president of the Council of Ministers. He was scheduled to meet later with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez. The website quoted Lavrov as saying that Russia will work with Cuba to help end the U.S. trade sanctions. From Cuba, Lavrov will travel to Colombia, Nicaragua, and Guatemala.
