Six people were shot, one fatally, in a series of attacks in Mesa, Arizona on Wednesday, triggering the lockdown of several blocks of the city as police searched for the lone suspected gunman, authorities said. The suspect was finally taken into custody just after 1 p.m., Mesa Interim Police Chief John Meza said. Police would not immediately identify the man. He was found during a search of a condominium complex in which police spotted him on a balcony of a vacant home, Mesa Police spokesman Esteban Flores said. He was taken into custody after the officers shot him with a Taser. The rampage began at the Tri City Inn on West Main Street, where an argument exploded into gunfire, Flores said. One man died at the scene, and two women were taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds.
