The Minister of Justice and Acting Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council Dr. Waleed bin Mohammed Al Samaani today condemned the statements issued by some foreign sources giving false evaluation of the reality of the Judiciary system of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is derived from the Holy Quran and the Prophet Mohammed's Sunnah (sayings and deeds (pbuh). He refuted the allegations raised by those sources as an attempt to draw a false scenario irrelevant of the real judicial course of the case in question as the matter of dispute pertains, in fact, to a Saudi citizen who committed some acts inside the country, which are considered as criminal acts according to the Saudi judiciary, noting that such crimes were dealt with according to the domestic systems in the Kingdom compatible to international bases and standards, citing the ordinary procedures of investigation, ruling and detention as well as litigation, publicity of court sessions, transparency of procedures and guarantee to have lawyers chosen by the indicted to defend himself/herself. The minister added that the Judicial Law in Saudi Arabia is fully independent and that it is subject to none but the rules of the Islamic Sharia law. The systems of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Basic System for Rule, have also guaranteed the freedom of expression for all but our system is a disciplined one according to the Islamic law and public order. He also said that the systems of the Kingdom differentiate between freedom on one hand and disorder and violation of the society's pillars and values, security and tranquility on the other, citing that so many people have voiced their views but were not convicted of any offense as they have in fact not committed any violation against the system. --More 22:48 LOCAL TIME 19:48 GMT تغريد
