Indian Premier Narendra Modi has decided to drop the Maldives from a regional tour next week following political unrest in the island nation, officials said Friday. India's External Affairs Ministry announced that Modi would be visiting the Seychelles, Mauritius and Sri Lanka from March 10 to 14. The statement made no mention of a scheduled visit to the Maldivian capital, Male. "Both countries have decided to postpone the visit to a later date to give more time to prepare well for the visit. New dates will be announced once finalized," the Maldivian foreign ministry said in a statement.
