The National Center for Palms and Dates "Nakhl" of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has set 140 research projects for 2015, to achieve the quality in the Saudi production of palms' dates, and benefit farmers to be able to develop and diversify their production, in line with the requirements of the agricultural market in the world. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Nakhl's Executive President Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Janobi explained that the strategy of the Center is to support marketing and exporting local dates inside and outside the Kingdom, and to promote national industry of dates to be an essential source of food security. It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Agriculture indicated in its statistics for 2014 that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest country in the world in the volume of production of dates by 1.3 million tons.
