Minister of Agriculture Dr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Balghunaim confirmed that the outputs of the project of decoding genetics of the date palm genomics will be used in the work of the "International Council of Dates" whose establishment was announced recently in Riyadh. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the inauguration ceremony of the project, he said that the International Council of Dates would serve the sector of dates as an agricultural economic product, urging the interested people in the economies of growing date palms in the Kingdom to give more attention and care for dates industry and raise their marketing locally and abroad. It is worth mentioning that the findings of the project were launched today at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).
