Greece is expected to submit its proposal for a six-month loan extension on Thursday, with Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis expressing confidence it would be approved by other finance ministers by the end of the week, dpa reported. Varoufakis said the proposal will be submitted ahead of a Eurogroup working group meeting and "will satisfy the Greek side and the Eurogroup." He said a final decision will be taken on Friday on a teleconference with other eurozone finance ministers. There is a standoff between Greece and its creditors over the country's bailout. Greece's new leftist government wants an extension of the loans but not the austerity programme that came tied to its two international bailouts provided since 2010, totalling 240 billion euros (274 billion dollars). The eurozone-provided share of the loans is due to expire at the end of the month.
